Miguel Ángel García

Missionary in Milwaukee | Creator of "40 Days, 40 Testimonies"

Miguel Garcia was born in Veracruz, Mexico, and immigrated to the United States at the age of seven. Raised in Milwaukee and educated in Catholic schools, his faith has always been part of his journey. With the support of DACA, he earned a degree in Information Technology and a minor in Film Studies from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. After a period of uncertainty, a transformative Iskali Initiation Retreat reignited his faith and gave new direction to his life. Through Iskali, Miguel discovered both his vocation and his voice. He began volunteering in Chicago and Milwaukee, using his creative gifts to share the faith. stories of Hispanic young adults. His digital series “40 Days, 40 Testimonies”—launched in Lent 2024 and returning in 2025—has reached over 100,000 viewers each year, highlighting the beauty, struggles, and hope of young Catholics. Today, Miguel serves as Iskali’s first full-time missionary in Milwaukee, accompanying young adults at St. Patrick and Our Lady of Guadalupe. Inspired by Blessed Carlo Acutis, he uses media to bring others closer to God and to show that holiness is possible in everyday life. Once unsure of his abilities, Miguel now lives by the truth that “God qualifies the unqualified,” striving to inspire others to use their gifts in service and faith.
